Alumni Spotlight: Jeremy McNeil

McNeil is an urban planning professional who resides in Atlanta, Georgia, and is committed to strengthening communities through comprehensive planning and neighborhood revitalization. A proud graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, Class of 2013, he currently serves as a Project Manager in Planning for Downtown Atlanta Inc., the community improvement district for Downtown Atlanta.


In this role, Jeremy works closely with the City of Atlanta and community stakeholders to advance urban planning initiatives, with a focus on land use, urban design, and development review. He supports economic development initiatives, helps advance neighborhood reinvestment efforts, and ensures that projects align with the Downtown Master Plan, contributing to a more vibrant, walkable, and inclusive Downtown environment.


Jeremy remains committed to service and leadership, continuing the legacy of excellence inspired by Mary McLeod Bethune. He credits Bethune-Cookman University for instilling in him the values captured in its motto, “Enter to learn, depart to serve.” This principle continues to guide his professional journey, reinforcing his dedication to making a meaningful impact in the communities he serves.
