Join the Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter of Bethune-Cookman University Alumni and the Office of Alumni Affairs and Development as we honor the unveiling of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune's statue.

The founder of Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU), Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune will soon make history as the first Black person to have a state-commissioned statue in the U.S. Capitol's Statuary Hall. Only two statues represent each state. The 11-foot, 6,000 lbs. replica was sculpted out of the largest (and last) piece of statuary marble from Michelangelo's quarry in Italy.
